Inside, there are all sorts of routes and works of art to be impressed by. One of the busiest seems to be the Da Vinci Code trail that follows the route of the book right up to the Mona Lisa - surprisingly diminutive in size but impressive in reputation and story. A further piece -just one of many - bound to leave an impact, is the Winged Victory, an awesome, marble statue of the Greek goddess Nike, made in the third-century. Also, Hammurabi's Code is worth a look. It is a block of black rock that rears up from the floor, and was - significantly - the first codified law system.

The Louvre should probably be visited again and again as there is so much in stock, it's impossible to try and take everything in during the course of one afternoon and with online airline companies throwing out cheap flights to European cities to whiz you there and back in a weekend, the prospect of checking out Paris' art may be more the appealing.
