harbour is usually busy - it is used by local fishing vessels & the Isles
of Scilly Steamship company who operate both a passenger ferry & a freight
vessel.
The penzance dry dock & local marine engineering companies generate
repair and fit out activity both in the dry dock & the floating harbour with
ship & trawler repair & luxury yacht conversion.
During
the season - visitors mooring buoys are laid off the harbour entrance where yachts
can lay whilst awaiting the tide to enter the floating dock Yacht moorings
in the dock are subject to space availability so yachts may have to lay alongside
a trawler or other working vessel, which adds to the interest of this very friendly
